History of the School

Mantibugao Elementary School is in Mantibugao, Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon. The school is 4 kilometers away from the highway. Since Mantibugao is a fast-growing and progressive barangay, there was a need and a wish of the barangay folks to put up a school for their children’s education and welfare. So, through the efforts of barangay officials under the administration of Honorable Federico Dacutanan the barangay captain they negotiated with Mr. Hayzon to donate a land area for the school site. Luckily Mr. Hayzon agreed he donated 2.75 hectares in the year 1962.

At that time the barangay officials and the concerned citizens lend a hand to put up a temporary building through a “Bayanihan System”. In the years 1964 and 1965 Grade, I was open, and the first teacher was Mr. Napoleon Ibero and he was also the TIC of the school. In 1965 and 1966 Grade II was open and still Mr. Napoleon Ibero was the teacher. Then 1966-1967 Grade III was open that is what we are called multigrade system. In 1968-1969 Grade IV pupils were enrolled in Alae Elementary School the nearest barangay. In the year 1974-1975, Mr. Donato Kuizon was the TIC with a multigrade class.

The barangay officials and the PTA officers and the members requested that the Grade IV to Grade VI will be opened, and the request was being granted. So, in the yeas 1975-1976 it was no longer Mantibugao Primary School instead it become a complete Elementary School, and it was named Mantibugao Elementary School. A headteacher II Mr. Antonio P. Copino headed the school in the year 1999-2002 then from 2004-2005 Mantibugao Elementary was headed by a lovely lady no other than Mrs. Rizaliana B. Oliver Ph., D., Then followed by Mr. Donato Kuizon again from 2006-2009. From 2010-2013, it was coming in Mr. Matias A. Tanasas a smiling and humble person, a school headteacher II. In the same year, a handsome, humble, considerate, and active school principal arrived, Mr. Gildred U. Bantug. In 2013-2017 he led 11 teachers until it became 18 teachers. He was community and family-oriented. He has a lot of initiative to find ways and means to revise the plan for the makeshift classroom.

Mantibugao Elementary School is located at Mantibugao, Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon. It was established on June 1, 1954.
